Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
In a medium bowl, whisk together the 2 cups flour, 2 tsp cinnamon, and 1 tsp baking powder.
- 3
In a large bowl, beat the 1/2 cup butter and 3/4 cup sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add the 1 egg and 1 tsp vanilla, beat until combined.
- 4
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet, mixing until a soft dough forms. If too sticky, add a little flour.
- 5
On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into star shapes and place on prepared sheet.
- 6
Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- 7
Once cool, whisk the 1 cup powdered sugar with 2-3 tbsp water to make a glaze. Brush over cookies and let set.
