Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups neutral oil for frying
  • 2 cups hot chocolate

Instructions

    Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl until combined.

    Heat oil in a heavy pot to 350°F. Pipe 2-inch lengths of dough directly into hot oil using a churrera or pastry bag.

    Fry 6-8 churros at a time, 90 seconds per side until golden brown and crispy.

    Transfer to paper towels and drain immediately.

    Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl, then toss warm churros to coat.
