Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm milk
- 4 tbsp butter
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- ½ tsp salt
Instructions
- 1
In a large bowl, mix 2 cups flour, 1 tbsp yeast, 2 tbsp sugar, and 0.5 tsp salt. Add 0.75 cup warm milk and 2 tbsp melted butter; stir until a soft dough forms.
- 2
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 30 minutes, until doubled.
- 3
Roll the dough into a 9x12 inch rectangle. Spread 2 tbsp softened butter over it, then sprinkle with 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp cinnamon, leaving a 1 inch border.
- 4
Scatter 0.5 cup chocolate chips evenly over the cinnamon sugar. Roll the dough tightly from a long edge into a log, then pinch the seam to seal.
- 5
Cut the log into 8 equal slices and place them cut-side up in a greased 9 inch round pan. Cover and let rise for 15 minutes, until puffy.
- 6
Bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and the center springs back when touched. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving warm.
