Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup walnuts
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
- 2
In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup chocolate chips, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- 3
Whisk in the 1 cup sugar and 2 eggs until well combined. The mixture should be glossy and smooth.
- 4
Fold in the 1/2 cup flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt until just combined; do not overmix. The batter will be thick and shiny.
- 5
Stir in the 1/2 cup walnuts, reserving a few for the top if desired. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- 6
Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the top is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Do not overbake.
- 7
Let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack, then lift out using the parchment and cut into 9 squares.
