Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 burger buns
- 1 large onion
- 4 cheddar cheese slices
- ¼ cup barbecue sauce
- 1 pinch salt and pepper
Instructions
- 1
Thinly slice the 1 large onion. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the onion until soft and golden, about 8 minutes. Set aside.
- 2
Divide the 1 lb ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties. Season both sides with the pinch of salt and pepper.
- 3
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side, until browned and cooked to your liking.
- 4
Place 1 slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking, letting it melt. Toast the 4 burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.
- 5
