Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb pre-cooked octopus, thawed
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp dried red chili flakes
  • 1 whole lime (juiced)
  • 2 whole garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

    Pat octopus dry with a paper towel. Season all over with salt and black pepper.

    Heat 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high until it foams, ~90 seconds.

    Add octopus and sear without moving for 2 minutes until edges char. Flip and sear 2 min more.

    Push octopus to the side. Add remaining 2 tbsp butter, garlic, and chili flakes to the pan.

    Swirl the melted butter over the octopus for 1 minute until fragrant and glossy.

  6. 6

    Squeeze lime juice over everything. Plate and shower with cilantro. Serve immediately.
