Balkan Stuffed Burger with Sausage

Ingredients
- ½ lb ground beef
- ¼ cup kashkaval or sharp cheddar, shredded
- ¼ medium, finely diced yellow onion
- 2 links kobasica or smoked sausage
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions

Divide beef into 4 small portions. Flatten 2 portions into thin patties, add cheese and diced onion to center of each, then top with remaining 2 patties and seal edges tightly.

Slice kobasica into thin rounds. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high until shimmering.

Cook sausage slices until edges crisp, 3–4 minutes. Remove and set aside on a plate.

In the same skillet, sear stuffed patties 4 minutes per side without moving. Cheese will melt inside; center should stay pink.

Top each patty with sausage slices and serve immediately while patties are still steaming.
