Ingredients

  • ½ lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • ½ cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 8 sheets phyllo dough sheets
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill (or parsley), chopped

Instructions

    Heat 1 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium-high. Cook ground beef, breaking up with a spoon, until no pink remains, ~6 minutes.

    Add diced onion to the beef. Sauté until softened and fragrant, ~3 minutes.

    Remove from heat. Stir in ricotta, feta, and dill. Season with salt and pepper. Let cool 5 minutes.

    Preheat oven to 400°F. Brush a 9-inch pie dish with melted butter.

    Layer 4 phyllo sheets in the dish, brushing each with butter and letting edges overhang.

    Spread meat-cheese filling evenly over phyllo. Fold overhanging edges over the filling.

    Layer remaining 4 phyllo sheets on top, brushing each with butter. Tuck edges inside the dish.

    Score the top into 4 squares with a sharp knife. Bake until golden brown, ~25 minutes.

    Cool 5 minutes, then cut along scored lines and serve warm.
