Ingredients
- 12 whole sea scallops
- 6 slices bacon
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- 1
Pat the 12 scallops dry with paper towels. Cut the 6 bacon slices in half crosswise, then wrap each scallop with one half-slice, securing with a toothpick.
- 2
Season the wrapped scallops with the 0.5 tsp salt and 0.25 tsp black pepper on all sides.
- 3
Heat the 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the scallops in a single layer, seam-side down, without crowding.
- 4
Cook until the bacon is browned and crisp on the bottom, about 3 minutes. Flip and cook until the scallops are opaque and just firm, about 3 more minutes.
- 5
Transfer to a plate and let rest for 2 minutes before serving. Remove toothpicks and serve hot.
