Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 4 oz dark chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

    Heat 2 cups neutral oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (use a thermometer). Mix cinnamon with 2 tbsp sugar in a shallow bowl.

    Whisk flour, milk, salt, and 1 tbsp sugar in a bowl until smooth batter forms.

    Transfer batter to a pastry bag or churrera. Pipe 4-inch strips directly into hot oil.

    Fry 60-90 seconds per side until golden brown and crispy on both edges.

    Drain on a paper towel, then toss in cinnamon-sugar while still warm.
