Ingredients
- 2 cups ice cubes or block ice
- ½ cup watermelon puree (from fresh melon or frozen)
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 can (20 oz) canned lychees in syrup, chilled
- 1 cup brewed black or jasmine tea, cooled
Instructions

Stir watermelon puree with sugar and water until sugar dissolves. Refrigerate until ice is ready.

Crush or shave ice into fine flakes using a shaver, blender, or fork. Divide into two chilled bowls.

Pour watermelon syrup generously over each mound of shaved ice.

Pour cooled tea into two glasses. Add a handful of canned lychees and their syrup to each glass.

Serve kakigori and lychee tea side-by-side. Eat the ice immediately while cold and crispy.
