Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne or rigatoni
  • 14 oz canned crushed tomatoes
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 pinch salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

    Boil salted water in a large pot. Add pasta and cook until al dente, ~10 minutes.

    Meanwhile, heat butter in a large skillet over medium. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, ~1 minute.

    Pour in crushed tomatoes and simmer for 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Remove from heat and stir in cream until the sauce is pale pink and silky.

    Drain pasta and add to the skillet. Toss until coated, 1 minute.

    Season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately in shallow bowls.
