Ingredients

  • 1 cup glutinous rice flour
  • ¾ cup water
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
  • ½ cup tapioca pearls
  • 3 drops food coloring (green, red, yellow)

Instructions

  1. 1

In a bowl, mix 1 cup glutinous rice flour with 0.75 cup water until a soft dough forms. Divide dough into 3 equal parts.

  2. 2

Add 1 drop of green food coloring to one part, 1 drop red to another, and 1 drop yellow to the third. Knead each until color is uniform.

  3. 3

Roll each colored dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Set aside.

  4. 4

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the rice balls and 0.5 cup tapioca pearls. Cook until they float and are translucent, about 5 minutes. Drain.

  5. 5

In a saucepan, heat 1 can coconut milk with 0.25 cup sugar over medium until sugar dissolves, about 3 minutes. Serve the balls and pearls in bowls, pour the warm coconut milk over, and enjoy.
