Ingredients

  • ¾ lb white fish fillets (cod, tilapia, or similar)
  • 3 tbsp tamarind paste
  • 1 cup daikon radish, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • ½ medium yellow onion, quartered
  • 1 whole long red chili, halved lengthwise
  • 4 cups fish or chicken stock
  • ½ tsp kosher salt

Instructions

  1. 1

Stir in tamarind paste until dissolved, breaking up any clumps.

  4. 4

Lay fish fillets on top, submerging gently. Season with salt.

  5. 5

Simmer 5–6 minutes until fish flakes easily at the thickest point.
