Ingredients

  • 6 cups beef broth
  • 8 oz deli sausage (kielbasa or smoked), sliced
  • 4 oz deli ham, diced
  • 1 large dill pickle, chopped
  • ½ cup pitted olives, halved
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 4 slices rye or crusty bread, sliced

Instructions

    Bring broth to a boil in a large pot over high heat.

    Add sausage and ham. Stir and simmer for 3 minutes until broth darkens.

    Stir in tomato paste, pickle (including liquid), and olives.

    Simmer for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until flavors meld.
