Ingredients
- ¾ lb ground beef
- 2 rounds pita bread
- ¾ cup plain yogurt
- 2 whole plum tomato
- 1 whole red bell pepper
- 3 tbsp butter
- ½ tsp sumac (or red pepper flakes)

Heat 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high. Brown ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, until no pink remains, ~5 minutes.

Season beef with 0.25 tsp salt, 0.125 tsp pepper, and sumac. Stir to combine, then remove to a plate.

Add remaining 2 tbsp butter to the skillet. Halve tomatoes and pepper lengthwise; sear cut-side down until charred, ~3 minutes.

Warm pita on the skillet for 1 minute per side until soft and pliable. Transfer to plates.

Top pita with cooked beef, then drizzle with warm yogurt until the bread is half-submerged and sauce pools around the edges.

Arrange charred tomato and pepper on top. Serve immediately while yogurt is still warm and pita is soft.
