Ingredients
- 1 breakfast sausage patty
- 1 English muffin
- 1 egg
- 1 American or cheddar cheese slice
- 1 tsp butter
- 1 pinch each salt and pepper

Split the English muffin and set aside. Heat a 10-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.

Add sausage patty to dry skillet. Cook 2 minutes, then flip and cook 2 minutes until edges brown.

Slide sausage to the edge of the pan. Add 0.5 tsp butter to the center, then crack the egg into it.

Season egg with salt and pepper. Cook until whites set but yolk jiggles slightly, 3–4 minutes.

While egg finishes, toast the English muffin halves in a separate dry skillet or toaster until golden.

Lay cheese slice on the sausage patty. Cover pan 30 seconds until cheese just melts.

Place sausage with cheese on bottom muffin, then egg on top. Cap with top muffin half and serve immediately.
