Ingredients

  • 1 breakfast sausage patty
  • 1 English muffin
  • 1 egg
  • 1 American or cheddar cheese slice
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1 pinch each salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Split the English muffin and set aside. Heat a 10-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

Add sausage patty to dry skillet. Cook 2 minutes, then flip and cook 2 minutes until edges brown.

  3. 3

Slide sausage to the edge of the pan. Add 0.5 tsp butter to the center, then crack the egg into it.

  4. 4

Season egg with salt and pepper. Cook until whites set but yolk jiggles slightly, 3–4 minutes.

  5. 5

While egg finishes, toast the English muffin halves in a separate dry skillet or toaster until golden.

  6. 6

Lay cheese slice on the sausage patty. Cover pan 30 seconds until cheese just melts.

  7. 7

Place sausage with cheese on bottom muffin, then egg on top. Cap with top muffin half and serve immediately.
