Ingredients
- 4 slices bread, sliced
- 4 slices cheese (cheddar, gruyère, or fontina), sliced
- 3 tablespoons pesto (store-bought or fresh)
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 pinch salt and pepper to taste

Spread 0.5 tablespoon butter on one side of each bread slice.

Place a bread slice butter-side down in a skillet over medium heat.

Spread 1.5 tablespoons pesto on the unbuttered side of the bread in the pan.
