Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup peanut butter (creamy)
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

  2. 2

Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then stir in cocoa powder until smooth.

  3. 3

Remove from heat. Stir in granulated sugar, flour, and salt until mixture looks like wet sand.

  4. 4

Press mixture evenly into prepared pan, using your hands or the bottom of a measuring cup.

  5. 5

Bake 12 minutes. Remove and let cool slightly while making the filling.

  6. 6

Stir peanut butter and powdered sugar until combined and spreadable, adding small splashes of water if too thick.

  7. 7

Spread peanut butter mixture evenly over the warm chocolate base. Smooth the top.

  8. 8

Melt chocolate chips in microwave in 30-second pulses, stirring between each, until smooth.

  9. 9

Spread melted chocolate evenly over the peanut butter layer, working quickly.

  10. 10

Refrigerate 20 minutes until chocolate is set and firm to the touch.

  11. 11

Cut into 12 bars. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
