Ingredients

  • 12 count frozen or store-bought meatballs
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 count sub roll, split lengthwise
  • 6 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 0 pinch salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

    Heat oil in a large skillet over medium. Add meatballs and cook 3 minutes, shaking pan occasionally to turn them.

    Pour marinara over meatballs. Simmer 4 minutes until sauce bubbles gently and meatballs warm through.

    Brush cut sides of sub rolls with oil. Place rolls cut-side down in skillet around the meatballs for 2 minutes until golden.

    Transfer rolls to a cutting board. Divide meatballs and sauce between them; top each with 3 slices of mozzarella.

    Return filled rolls to skillet over low heat. Cover and cook 2 minutes until mozzarella melts.

    Serve hot with mustard and mayo on the side if desired.
