Ingredients

  • 8 pieces store-bought falafel (fried or frozen, reheated)
  • 2 whole pita bread
  • ¼ cup tahini sauce
  • 2 tbsp chili sauce or harissa
  • 1 medium tomato sliced tomatoes
  • ½ small onion sliced red onion
  • ½ cup pickled vegetables (turnips, cucumber, or mixed)

    If using frozen falafel, bake at 375°F for 12 minutes until heated through and edges crisp.

    Warm pita bread in a dry skillet over medium heat for 30 seconds per side until soft and pliable.

    Spread 2 tbsp tahini sauce inside each warm pita, then drizzle 1 tbsp chili sauce down the center.

    Stuff each pita with 4 falafel pieces, then layer tomato slices, red onion, and pickled vegetables inside.

    Serve immediately while pita is still warm, with extra tahini and chili sauce on the side.
