Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 medium cucumber, sliced
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • ½ cup firm cheese (feta, white cheddar, or similar), crumbled or cubed

Instructions

  1. 1

Mix flour with 0.5 cup water and a pinch of salt until a rough dough forms. Let rest 2 minutes.

  2. 2

Knead dough for 1 minute until smooth. Divide into 2 balls and cover with a damp towel.

  3. 3

On an oiled surface, stretch one dough ball into a thin 8×8-inch square. Fold into thirds, then fold again into a small square.

  4. 4

Heat 1.5 tbsp melted butter in a skillet over medium-high. Pan-fry the folded dough 2–3 minutes per side until deep golden and crispy.

  5. 5

Transfer to a plate. Repeat step 3–4 with the second dough ball and remaining butter. Drizzle both with warm honey.

  6. 6

Arrange cucumber, tomato, cheese, and olives on the plate alongside the msemen. Serve warm.
