Ingredients

  • 2 pounds dark chocolate
  • ¾ cup coconut oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups marshmallows

Instructions

  1. 1

Chop the 2 pounds dark chocolate into small, uniform pieces and place them in a large heatproof bowl.

  2. 2

Add the 1 cup heavy cream and 0.75 cup coconut oil to the chocolate. Set the bowl over a pot of simmering water, making sure the bottom doesn't touch the water.

  3. 3

Stir gently with a spatula until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and glossy, about 10 minutes. Do not let any water get into the chocolate.

  4. 4

Remove the bowl from the heat and stir in the 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

  5. 5

Pour the melted chocolate into the fountain's basin. Turn on the fountain and let it run for 5 minutes, allowing the chocolate to flow and warm up.

  6. 6

If the chocolate is too thick to flow properly, add warm cream or coconut oil, 1 tablespoon at a time, until it flows smoothly.

  7. 7

Serve with the 2 cups marshmallows and other dippers like fruit or cake. Keep the fountain running to maintain the chocolate's consistency.

  8. 8

When finished, turn off the fountain and allow the chocolate to cool slightly before cleaning according to the manufacturer's instructions.
