Ingredients

  • 4 buns steamed gua bao buns (or mantou)
  • 6 oz roasted pork belly or deli chashu pork, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup pickled mustard greens or daikon, chopped
  • 3 tbsp hoisin sauce mixed with a pinch of sugar
  • 3 tbsp roasted peanuts, crushed
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

    If buns are cold, warm them in a steamer basket over simmering water for 2 minutes until soft.

    Heat pork slices in a skillet over medium-high until edges crisp, about 3 minutes. Set aside.

    Open each bun gently, brush inside with hoisin sauce, then layer warm pork on the bottom.

    Top pork with pickled greens, crushed peanuts, and cilantro. Close bun and serve immediately.
