Ingredients

  • 2 whole whole eggs
  • 1.25 cups whole milk
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries
  • 2 tsp baking powder

Instructions

    Whisk together flour, sugar, and baking powder. Add eggs, milk, and melted butter; stir until just combined—batter will be slightly lumpy.

    Heat your waffle iron and lightly grease it. Pour batter and cook until golden and crispy, about 4–5 minutes per batch.

    While waffles cook, whip heavy cream with 1 tbsp sugar until soft peaks form—takes 90 seconds with an electric mixer.

    Slice fresh strawberries and set aside. If you want a compote, quickly crush half the berries with a fork.
