Ingredients
- 1 lb pizza dough
- 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 425°F. On a floured surface, roll the 1 lb pizza dough into a 10-inch oval, about 1/4 inch thick.
- 2
Place the dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle 1.5 cups mozzarella evenly over the center, leaving a 1-inch border.
- 3
Fold the edges of the dough over the cheese to form a boat shape, pinching the ends to seal. Bake until golden and puffed, about 12 minutes.
- 4
Remove from oven and use a spoon to make a well in the center of the cheese. Crack the 1 egg into the well.
- 5
Return to oven and bake until the egg white is set but yolk is still runny, about 5-7 minutes. Brush the crust with 2 tbsp melted butter and serve warm.
- 6
Let cool for 2 minutes before slicing. The egg will continue to cook slightly from residual heat.
