Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • ⅓ cup olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • 12 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined

Instructions

  1. 1

Boil salted water in a large pot, add spaghetti, and cook until al dente.

  2. 2

While pasta cooks, warm oil in a skillet over medium heat, add garlic slices, and cook until golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.

  3. 3

Stir in red pepper flakes, then add shrimp in a single layer and sear until opaque, about 2 minutes per side.

  4. 4

Drain pasta, reserving 1 cup pasta water, then add pasta to the skillet and toss with the oil.

  5. 5

Add pasta water a splash at a time until the sauce coats the noodles and shrimp with a glossy sheen.

  6. 6

Serve immediately, dividing shrimp evenly between plates.
