Ingredients
- 8 slices brioche or white bread
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup whole milk
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp butter

Cut each bread slice in half lengthwise to make sticks about 1.5 inches wide.

Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla in a shallow bowl until smooth and frothy.

Melt butter in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until foaming, ~1 minute.

Dip each bread stick into egg mixture 1–2 seconds per side; let excess drip off.

Place sticks in skillet in a single layer without crowding. Fry 2–3 minutes until deep golden.

Flip sticks and fry the other side 2–3 minutes until golden and cooked through.

Transfer to a plate and serve hot with maple syrup for dunking.
