Ingredients
- 2 slices bread
- 2 slices bacon
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp butter
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- 1
Cook the 2 bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat until browned and crispy, about 6-8 minutes, flipping once. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels.
- 2
Pour off most of the bacon fat, leaving about 1 tsp in the skillet. Crack the 1 egg into the skillet and cook over medium heat until the white is set and the edges are golden, about 3-4 minutes. Sprinkle with the 0.25 tsp salt and 0.25 tsp black pepper.
- 3
While the egg cooks, toast the 2 bread slices in a toaster or under a broiler until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- 4
Spread the 1 tbsp butter evenly over the toasted bread slices.
- 5
Place the bacon on one slice of bread, top with the fried egg, and close the sandwich with the other slice. Cut in half and serve hot.
- 6
For extra flavor, add a slice of cheese or a drizzle of hot sauce before closing the sandwich.
