Ingredients
- ½ lb ground beef
- ½ medium yellow onion, minced
- 24 count wonton wrappers
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp hot sauce (or sriracha)
- 2 cups neutral oil for frying
Instructions
- 1
Brown ground beef with minced onion in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking up with a spoon, until no pink remains, about 5 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of cumin.
- 2
Whisk honey and hot sauce together in a small bowl until smooth. Set the dipping sauce aside.
- 3
Spoon 1 teaspoon of cooled beef mixture into the center of a wonton wrapper. Wet all four edges with water using your finger.
- 4
Fold the wrapper diagonally to form a triangle, pressing edges firmly to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
- 5
Heat oil in a heavy skillet to 350°F (or until a piece of wrapper sizzles immediately when dropped in). Working in batches, fry sambuса 60–90 seconds per side until deep golden and crispy.
- 6
Drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with the hot honey dipping sauce on the side.
