Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup water
  • 6 tbsp butter, divided
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds or chopped pistachios (optional)

    Mix flour, water, and salt in a bowl until a shaggy dough forms.

    Knead for 2 minutes until smooth, then divide into 4 equal balls.

    Roll one ball into a thin rectangle on a floured surface. Spread 1 tbsp melted butter across the dough.

    Roll tightly from one long end, then coil into a spiral. Flatten the spiral back into a 6-inch square.

    Heat 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high. Pan-fry the msemen square 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.

    Repeat steps 3–5 with remaining dough and butter. Drizzle hot msemen with honey and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
