Ingredients
- 200 g jarred herring in brine
- 4 slices rye bread
- ½ medium red onion
- 2 tbsp white vinegar
- 2 tbsp fresh dill
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions

Slice the red onion into thin half-moons. Toss with vinegar and a pinch of salt.

Toast the rye bread until golden and crispy on both sides.

Butter each slice of toast while still warm.
