Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 oz) or 1 lb thawed store-bought biscuit dough (or pizza dough)
  • 1.5 cups, chopped char siu pork (rotisserie or canned)
  • 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp green onion, chopped
  • 1 whole egg yolk (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Mix char siu pork, hoisin, soy sauce, brown sugar, and green onion in a bowl until the filling is glossy and well combined.

  2. 2

Divide biscuit dough into 8 equal portions. Flatten each into a 4-inch round, place a spoonful of filling in the center.

  3. 3

Fold edges up and pinch the top to seal, creating a pouch shape. Place seam-side down on a parchment-lined sheet pan.

  4. 4

Brush the tops with egg yolk and sprinkle sesame seeds if using.

  5. 5

Bake at 400°F for 12–14 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the buns look puffy.

  6. 6

Serve hot. The buns will stay tender inside with a crispy, glossy crust on top.
