Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 head small head green cabbage, cored and shredded
  • 1 can (14 oz) canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • ½ tsp caraway seeds (optional but traditional)

Instructions

    Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high until shimmering, then add ground beef and break it up with a spoon as it browns, ~5 minutes.

    Add diced onion and sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant, then stir in tomato paste and caraway seeds for 30 seconds.

    Add shredded cabbage, crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper, then stir to combine.
