Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- ½ cup whole milk
- 3 tbsp honey
- 1 loaf bread (crusty or pita)
- 2 tbsp butter
- ¼ tsp sea salt
Instructions
- 1
Pour cream and milk into a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Heat over medium until small bubbles form at the edge, ~5 minutes.
- 2
Reduce heat to low and simmer gently without stirring for 10 minutes. The surface will wrinkle and thicken.
- 3
Slice bread into thick pieces. Heat butter in a skillet over medium-high until golden, then toast bread 1 minute per side.
- 4
Remove cream from heat. Stir in honey and salt until just combined—do not overwork it.
- 5
Transfer cream to a serving bowl. Spoon or dollop onto warm bread. Serve immediately.
