Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 6 tbsp butter, cold and cubed
- ¾ cup whole milk
- 1 whole egg
- ¼ tsp salt

Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.

Add cold butter cubes and cut into flour using your fingertips until mixture resembles coarse sand.

Whisk egg and milk together in a small bowl until combined.

Pour egg-milk mixture into flour mixture and stir until a shaggy dough just forms. Do not overmix.

Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently pat into a 1-inch-thick disk.
