Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ⅓ cup cold butter, cubed
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup jam (any flavor)
  • ½ cup heavy cream, whipped

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 400°F. Mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.

    Cut cold butter into small cubes and toss into the flour mixture. Rub with fingertips until it looks like breadcrumbs.

    Pour milk into a small bowl. Add milk to flour mixture and fold gently with a spatula until just combined; don't overmix.

    Turn dough onto a floured surface. Pat into a disk about 1 inch thick. Cut into 4 wedges or 8 smaller pieces with a sharp knife.

    Place scones on a sheet pan. Bake for 12–14 minutes until golden brown on top and a light tap sounds hollow.
