Ingredients

  • 2 lb clams
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • ½ cup dry white wine
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 loaf crusty bread

Instructions

  1. 1

Scrub the 2 lb clams under cold water, discarding any that are open or cracked. Set aside.

  2. 2

Heat the 2 tbsp olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the 4 sliced garlic cloves and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  3. 3

Add the clams and the 0.5 cup white wine. Cover and cook, shaking the pot occasionally, until the clams open, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 4

Discard any clams that stay closed. Stir in the 0.25 cup chopped parsley and season with salt and pepper.

  5. 5

Serve immediately in bowls with the cooking liquid and the crusty bread for dipping.
