Ingredients
- 2 lb mussels
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 1 chili pepper
- 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp butter

Scrub the 2 lb mussels and pull off any beards. Discard any that are open or cracked.

In a large pot, melt the 2 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add the 4 minced garlic cloves and 1 sliced chili pepper; cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Pour in the 1 cup white wine and bring to a boil. Add the mussels, cover, and steam until they open, about 5-7 minutes, shaking the pot once.

Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon over the mussels. Discard any that haven't opened. Serve immediately with the broth.
