Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries
  • ½ cup fresh basil or mint leaves

Instructions

    Mix flour and water in a bowl until smooth. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (use a thermometer).

    Transfer dough to a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe 4-inch churros directly into hot oil.

    Fry churros 90 seconds per side until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to paper towels.

    Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Toss warm churros in the cinnamon sugar until coated.

    Melt chocolate chips in microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth.
