Ingredients
- 2 cups neutral cooking oil (for frying)
- 1 box (or 8 oz puff pastry) frozen churro dough
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon
- 4 oz whole milk chocolate (chopped) or chocolate chips
- ¼ cup heavy cream or milk
Instructions
- 1
Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or deep skillet to 350°F, or until a wooden spoon handle bubbles vigorously when held in the oil.
- 2
While oil heats, mix cinnamon and sugar in a shallow bowl until evenly combined.
- 3
Once oil is ready, fry churro dough in batches (don't crowd the pan) until golden brown and crispy, turning once, about 2–3 minutes per batch.
- 4
Transfer churros to paper towels, then immediately toss in the cinnamon-sugar mixture while still warm.
- 5
Heat chocolate and cream together in a small microwave-safe bowl, 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until melted and smooth.
- 6
Serve warm churros with the chocolate dip on the side.
