Ingredients

  • 4 oz butter
  • 4 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 425°F. Lightly butter four 6-oz ramekins.

  2. 2

Combine butter and chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring between each, until melted and smooth.

  3. 3

Whisk eggs and sugar in a bowl until pale and thick, about 2 minutes.

  4. 4

Fold chocolate mixture into eggs until just combined. Fold in flour, salt, and vanilla.

  5. 5

Divide batter evenly among ramekins. Bake for 12–14 minutes until edges are set but center still jiggles when gently shaken.

  6. 6

Let cakes rest for 30 seconds. Run a thin knife around the edge of each ramekin, then invert onto a plate.

  7. 7

Serve immediately while still warm. Chocolate will ooze from the center.
