Ingredients

  • 6 tbsp butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 whole egg
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ¼ tsp salt

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Place a 10-inch cast iron skillet in the oven.

    Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.

    Beat butter and brown sugar in a large bowl until pale and fluffy, ~2 minutes.

    Add egg and vanilla to the bowl. Beat until combined.

    Fold in flour mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.

    Carefully remove hot skillet from oven. Press dough evenly into the pan.
