- 4 fillets fresh herring fillets, cleaned
- 2 rolls soft white bread rolls
- ½ onion yellow onion, sliced thin
- 6 gherkins dill pickle gherkins, sliced
- 2 tbsp, chopped fresh dill
- 1 to taste salt and pepper
