Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ¼ medium yellow onion, finely minced
  • ¼ cup fresh mint and parsley, chopped
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 pieces pita bread
  • ¾ cup hummus

Instructions

    Mix ground beef, minced onion, mint, parsley, cumin, cinnamon, salt, and pepper until just combined.

    Form mixture into 8 oval patties or press onto 4 skewers, packing firmly so they hold together.

    Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high until shimmering, about 1 minute.

    Cook kofta 3–4 minutes per side without moving until deeply browned and cooked through.

    Warm pita in the skillet 30 seconds per side or over a flame until soft and pliable.

    Serve kofta with warm pita, hummus, and a side of fresh tomato salad or cucumber.
