Ingredients

  • 200 g canned or jarred abalone, drained
  • 1.5 cups cooked white rice
  • 3 cups chicken or seafood stock
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp scallions, sliced thin
  • ½ tsp soy sauce

Instructions

    Heat stock and ginger in a medium pot over medium-high heat until steaming, about 2 minutes.

    Add rice and stir to combine, then simmer 2 minutes until it breaks down slightly into a porridge.

    Slice abalone thinly. Stir into the pot with soy sauce and cook 1 minute until heated through.

    Pour into bowls and drizzle each with sesame oil. Top with scallions and serve hot.
