Ingredients

  • 8 whole littleneck clams
  • 6 whole large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 oz squid, cleaned and sliced into rings
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tbsp gochugaru (Korean red chili flakes)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 whole scallion, sliced (green and white parts separated)

Instructions

    Bring water to a boil in a large pot over high heat.

    Add gochugaru, garlic, soy sauce, and white scallion parts. Stir well.

    Add clams and simmer, covered, for 5 minutes until they begin to open.

    Add shrimp and squid. Simmer uncovered for 3 minutes until shrimp turn pink.

    Discard any clams that did not open. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt.

    Divide stew between bowls and top with green scallion slices.
