Ingredients

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 oz chocolate bars (milk or dark), chopped
  • ½ tsp espresso powder
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

    Mix flour, cocoa, sugar, and espresso powder in a microwave-safe mug or small bowl.

    Stir in milk and 1 tbsp butter until just combined—batter should be thick and lumpy.

    Microwave on high for 90 seconds. Cake will rise and look barely set on top—that's right.

    While cake cools 30 seconds, heat remaining 1 tbsp butter and chopped chocolate together in a small bowl (microwave 20 seconds, stir until glossy).

    Pour warm fudge frosting over the warm cake. Let it settle and pool into the warm crumbs.
