Ingredients
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 6 tbsp butter, cold and cubed
- ½ cup dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, or diced apricots)
- ⅓ cup sliced almonds or chopped hazelnuts
- 4 whole cardamom pods, crushed, or 0.5 tsp ground cardamom
- ¼ cup granulated sugar

Line a sheet pan with parchment. Combine flour, sugar, cardamom, and a pinch of salt in a bowl.

Cut cold butter into the flour with your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs, ~2 minutes.

Fold in dried fruit and nuts. Stir in 3 tbsp water until the dough just comes together; don't overmix.

Drop walnut-sized clumps onto the sheet pan, spacing them 2 inches apart. Flatten each slightly with your palm.

Bake at 375°F until golden brown around the edges, 12–14 minutes. Cool 2 minutes on the pan, then transfer to a rack.
