Ingredients

  • 1 sheet (about 8 oz) puff pastry or croissant dough (thawed)
  • 3 tbsp butter, softened
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cardamom
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp pearl sugar (or coarse sugar)
  • ½ large egg egg, beaten (for wash)

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 425°F. Mix softened butter, sugar, cardamom, and cinnamon in a small bowl until fragrant.

    Unroll pastry sheet and spread the cinnamon-cardamom mixture evenly across the surface.

    Roll the pastry tightly into a log, then cut crosswise into 8 equal pieces.

    Place buns cut-side up on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between each.

    Brush each bun with beaten egg, then sprinkle pearl sugar over the tops.
